There are many considerations to think about before pursuing the path to citizenship in the U.S. and/or Canada. This enlightening panel will review the eligibility requirements for citizenship in both the U.S. and Canada, and will explore the process, timelines, pros and cons of pursuing citizenship in both countries. Specifically, the speakers will discuss:

  • The requirements for U.S. citizenship & common pitfalls
  • The requirements for Canadian citizenship & common pitfalls
  • Pros and Cons of U.S. P.R (Green Card) vs citizenship
  • Pros and Cons of Canadian citizenship
  • Other factors to consider: Tax and estate implications, personal considerations, etc.
