Phil Hanley began standup comedy by performing at open mics around Vancouver, BC, often in between bands at music venues. He honed in a style that best be described as unpredictably reflective, delivered with sharp accuracy, and rooted in the grand tradition of joke-telling.
Phil was given the title, "Best Jokes of the Festival," at theJust for Laughs Festival by the Montreal Gazette. He has since appeared on many TV shows such as, The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson, The Daily Show, John Oliver’s New York Stand Up Show, The Pete Holmes Show, @midnight, and Late Night with Seth Meyers.
Phil also went on to film his own stand-up special The 1/2 Hour, which premiered on Comedy Central in 2015. Most recently, Phil’s been on the road with Aziz Ansari and, when at home in New York, on stage at the Comedy Cellar.
