Dan was born in Penticton and grew up in Summerland both in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. He obtained a BS degree in Geology at the University of British Columbia in 1977. He began his career in the mining industry working throughout Canada and Australia, primarily with AMOCO. He changed careers to the oil and Gas industry with assignments throughout Alberta, the Arctic and Costa Rica. Dan moved to Denver in 1980 and has lived here ever since. While in Denver he has worked on exploration and production projects across all the major oil and gas basins in the US. He also spent a number of years working on international oil and gas exploration projects in various basins around the world. He currently works for Enerplus Resources, a Canadian oil and gas, exploration and production company at the office located in downtown Denver.
Dan and his wife Nina live in Denver. Nina has three adult children and four grandchildren living in Colorado Springs, New York City and England. Dan has a daughter and granddaughter in Belize and two grandsons and a great grandson in the Denver area.
Dan also serves on the BOD for the Denver Petroleum Club. He has also served on many committees of the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists and for over twenty years on a HOA.
